Actually in the Bible, Gershom was the firstborn son
of Moses and Zipporah (Exodus 2:22). (A Stranger in a
Strange Land - Ha Ger Shom)
Gershon was the oldest of the three sons of Levi, the
son of Jacob; his brothers were Kohath and Merari
(Genesis 46:11; Numbers 3:17.)
So Gershon was the great-grand-uncle of Moses's son
As I have written in the past on this list, I always
wonder why Levi's son's name is more celebrated than
Moses's son's? No one has posted an answer as of yet.

...Gershom and Gershon are one and the same Hebrew
name. It is the name of one of Jacob's grandsons by
his son Levi.
Hope this helps.
