--Stettin is now Szczecin in Poland; --Standesamt I in Berlin has Stettin records in its archive. For most of us however, the way to get vital records >from Stettin is through the LDS Family History Library/Centers. The city is one of a very few whose vital records were filmed all the way up to the 1940's. Alas, the on-line catalog at http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp is down for maintenance today.
