Mt. Zion burial dates #belarus

I have checked several known decedents in this database. Be advised that listed dates of death are often incorrect, listing the first of the month as death date.

Bernard Kouchel
I have two relatives buried at Mt. Zion (NY) whose death certificates I
possess. Bernard Kouchel is quite right, as one death date is listed as
the first of the month while actual date of death was the 19th of that
month. The other death date, however, lists as date of death the date of
interment.

I have one relative buried at Mt. Hebron (NY) whose death date in the
cemetery records corresponds to the date on his matzeva.

In working with the cemetery records for Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Los
Angeles, I have found that the date listed in their records is routinely
the date of interment.

All the above suggests that it is necessary to verify date of death
rather than taking for granted that dates listed in cemetery records are
accurate.
