Passports and skirts #general

We have my husband's grandmother's (and children) passport issued in
Kishinev. They came in 1913. Perhaps it was needed to get out of
Bessarabia--it's in French, German and Russian.

As for skirts, I have a large portrait of a great-uncle in a dress probably >from
the 1860s and a picture of my father in skirts (c.1905) both born in USA. It was
the not-necessarily-Jewish custom of the era.
