I am responding to Renee Steinig's earlier posting.
The Home for Aged and Infirm Hebrews published annual reports and other reports. In one annual report I found a listing of the death of my great-great-grandfather and the length of his residence in the home. Most likely other Jewish homes for the aged in New York City published similar reports. Check WorldCat for holdings in various libraries around the world. Some of the Annual Reports for homes (even early annual reports >from the USA) are even found in European libraries.
