Following my previous posting, I quickly checked the ALTMANN entries on the
Prague website: http://digi.nacr.cz/prihlasky/index
Instructions on how to navigate this site have been given in previous postings.

There are quite a few entries - this one particularly caught my eye:

Leopold ALTMANN Spiritushandler [dob 1815], >from Reichenwald, Oderburg, Silesia
married twice:

Julie BONDI born 1828 in Prague died 25 Sept 1856?
Marie RIE born 1830 in Prague died 8 May 1891

but these two wives are not separately indexed, so you would not find them.

With families whose names start with A and B, I have found that the wives and
families have unfortunately not been indexed by the digitisers. This must have
started later in the project.

Go to these two entries - and click Zobrazit - one is the Household
registration document and the other is the Heimatschein >from Silesia

Second marriage

You can then follow Gustav, Hedwig and Richard on the same website and see the
grandchildren of Leopold ALTMANN >from Silesia and Marie RIE >from Prague.

The trouble is people searching for ALTMANN links >from Silesia are unlikely to
look at this Prague site ..... such are the pitfalls/hazards of Jewish
genealogy and our SIG structure. There is only one Silesian ALTMANN listed on
the JGFF.
