I have noticed that correspondance. I think the reason Sheindls adopted the
English name Jennie is not translation, but sound-alike. Sheindl is not the real
name. Sheindl (like almost every other yiddish name with a last syllable
containing a k or an l is a diminuitive. The root name is Sheina, apparently
borrowed >from German Christians. So the English name that sounds the most like
Sheina is Jennie.
