Union information 1920 benefits #general

After many years of searching for what happened to my grandfather
Abraham Pencowsky, I was able to find him listed in the Brotherhood
of Painter, Decorators and Paperhangers Union Local Union 491 Waterbury
Conn. He was listed in the departed section with a death benefit of
$50 paid in September or October 1920. I need to find more information
about the union and their records. Would they keep records as to who
they paid the money to? Any suggestions as to who would have the
records? I found the copy of the book on Google books and have
downloaded it.
