Stuart Unger asked about his grandmother's home town of Skola, Austria. It may be Skala, which was part of the Austro-Hungarian empire in 1900 (now Ukraine), when his grandmother was born there.
I suggest that he go to the JRI-Poland website (accessible >from the Jewishgen home page) and check under Skala to see if he can find entries with his grandmother's maiden name and perhaps even her birth record.
