Re: How cemeteries today try to prevent baby markers at their gravesites from sinking #general

Re: Baby graves - I was curious as to why I saw so many infant/toddler graves
buried along the front and side fencelines of older cemeteries and it was explained
to me that a baby death was not a 'normal' thing; that everyone was meant to live a
long life and so if God decided He had made a mistake He would be able to easily
locate the dead child and restore its life. I'm not certain if people really
believed this; they probably thought it wouldn't hurt to try. Does anyone out there
have a similar story?

Someone had written to me about baby markers and their gravesites, so I wrote
to a cemetery manager I know whose cemetery has handled a good number of such
burials....
