During the years 1938 through 1944, thousands of Jews fled Europe traveling
on old and rusty ships to Palestine, as it then was. Despite the intensive
efforts of the British government to prevent this, some 25,000 people
entered Palestine illegally, by the laws of the mandate authority, thus
often called “illegal immigration.”

I want to find and obtain personal accounts >from people who took this
dangerous route to safety on the ships of Aliyah Bet during this period.
Some have written about their experiences; I wish to learn of more.
