of spelling errors and may have been translated >from another language.

If you read it in context, the word should be STREET. "The walled
city of Willienstad soon had Setree names evidencing the importance
of the Jewish population. There was a Jews' Street, a Jewish Church
Street, and a Bath Street."

Ann's ancestor was an indentured servant who arrived in Jamaica in 1751.
There is no indication that he was Jewish. I have sent her a separate note.
