Hi Trudy,

There is no direct route, as far as I know, >from Russia to Liverpool which
is on our west coast. So emigrants would have landed at an east coast port,
such as London, Hull, etc and travelled overland, probably by train, to
Liverpool for their onward journey. It is possible that some shipping lines
could provide a combined sea and rail ticket, but I cannot vouch for that.
