January 27, 2013 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day established in 2005 by
the United Nations General Assembly on the 60th anniversary of liberating the
prisoners of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazi extermination camp. Ceremonies are being

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed on January 27 while -
Some countries such as Israel and the US observe Yom Hashoah Day --Holocaust
Remembrance Day in the Spring marking the anniversary of the uprising of the
Jewish ghetto in Warsaw, Poland, against the Nazis.
