As expected, the White House has weighed in the issue of tax and identity theft and
is expected to proposed restrictions to the Death Master File and its commercial
version known as the Social Security Death Index. The bill has not yet been
introduced-but Representative Sam Johnson (R-TX) Chairman of the Social Security
Subcommittee of House Ways and Means Committee is expected to introduce the bill in
the coming weeks.
