In the last few days someone posted the name FISHMAN and said he/she was
having difficulty finding records. I can't remember which SIG the post was
on since I belong to several. But, in the RGIA (Russian State Historical
Archives, F. 1284, Op. 224, sheet 237-239) archives there was a FISHERMAN
Abram Leibovich >from Druya (a tradesman/merchant).

The name Fisherman translated >from RYBAK. Perhaps Fishman/Fisherman are

from the same root, and maybe records can be found for the "Fishman" family

under the name "Rybak" and its alternative spellings.
