Some of you may have already read about a new PBS program on genealogy
called Genealogy Roadshow. It is scheduled to premiere on Monday, September
23 9PM/8PM check your local listings for station and time.

The programs will feature participants >from four American cities: Nashville
(TN), Austin (TX), Detroit (MI) and San Francisco (CA). The premise is
having genealogists cross the country and find information for locals
answering "mysteries" about their families.

A snippet >from Monday's show in Nashville may be viewed at
http://video.pbs.org/video/2365079400/ You may
recognize Josh Taylor, president of FGS and a past speaker at IAJGS
conferences as the genealogist revealing information to local residents. We
don't know who the local people are or their backgrounds - so we can be
surprised when the genealogists use the types of materials we all use to
uncover family connections, census, vital records, photographs etc.

I have no connection to PBS and am noticing this for general information.
