Mocavo Holiday Genealogy Kit and More #general

Jan Meisels Allen

With the holidays literally around the corner the recent posting by Mocavo
may be something you want to try with Thanksgiving and Chanukah this week.
Mocavo crafted a Holiday Survival Kit as family gatherings which most of us
will have later this week and next is the opportune time to talk with
relatives and find out new stories or ask outstanding questions about family
history! The kit gives a basic refresher of some things we may have taken
for granted or forgotten as well as helpful hints on interviewing, suggested
holiday gifts and while the kit suggests joining the National Genealogy
Society or the NY Genealogical and Biographical Society -- both excellent
organizations -- why not join your local JGS if you are not already a member,
renew your membership if you are, make a contribution to a SIG or JewishGen?

The tool kit also includes: a pedigree chart, family group sheet, interview
family worksheet, a New Year's Resolution worksheet.

Mocavo Basic search is free for individual searches of its138,664
databases. They do have a paid subscription Mocavo Gold which searches the
same databases but all at the same time making the search much easier.

Mocavo also recently announced their in progress historical handwriting
software -- how many of us have struggled with older handwritten texts of
documents? To read more about this and the databases go to:

I have no affiliation with Mocavo and only share this information with you
for your general interest.

Wishing you all a Happy Chanukah and for those in the US a Happy
