Steven Lasky <steve725@...>
This Wisconsin Jewish Death and Burial Index is a compilation of information
from many sources, including data gathered >from death notices published inthe Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle. Additional research was pursued through cemetery records and recorded pertinent data. Penny Deshur and members of the Wisconsin Jewish Genealogical Society visited some of the Jewish cemeteries in Milwaukee and surrounding areas, where they recorded and photographed numerous tombstones. The records are not complete for several Milwaukee area cemeteries. This is an ongoing project, in the hopes of having a complete and accurate record of all Wisconsin Jewish burials. The link to all of this is http://jewishmuseummilwaukee.org/history/statistics/burial/ At this site you can also learn more about Jewish Milwaukee, including information about genealogy records, marriage records and more areas of research.
