Although my Okun family appears to be primarily >from Belarus, DNA
results have found a Miron Zeide whom FTDNA calls a second cousin. He
said that his grandmother, Esther Okun Kanfel, was >from Moscow. She
died about 1938 or 1939. Her father was Gamshey Okun.
I understand why there is no SIG for Russia but am hoping that someone
can steer me to online sources of records for Moscow. I can not
afford a researcher at this time. Any other suggestions for
researching this branch of Okuns would be greatly appreciated. So far
I have not gotten any hits on the usual US sources.
