From: Emily Garber <emilyhgarber@gmail.com> I do believe, however, that he may be incorrect in saying that: "There is no published index for births occurring after 1910 in New York City." There most certainly is a birth index for New York City after 1910. The New York Public Library has a copy and I have done look ups for a number of people in this index. It is on fiche by year and by borough. The challenge is it is only a listing of the baby's name and the date of birth along with the certificate number. There's no information on the parents, address or anything else. So if you are searching a common name it is a very difficult search. However after giving people the details >from this index I have heard a number of people have been successful in getting the certificates >from the Heath Department. Allan Jordan
