If he was buried in Berlin, as you suspect, then he was probably buried
at Weissensee cemetery, which opened in 1880.

The Jewish Community of Berlin has extensive records of the burials
there. Try contacting http://www.jewish-cemetery-weissensee.org/ .

Once you have the date and place of death you can order a copy of the
death register entry >from the appropriate registry office (Standesamt).

His name was Abraham Joseph WELCZMAN (also spelled Veltsman,
Wolceman etc)
