My wife's great grandfather Barnett (presumably not his original name)
DANNENBERG 1869-1939 is reputed to have come to the UK >from Riga, Latvia. He
was married to Leah or Lena KANTER 1866-1928 but no UK marriage record. Their
first child was registered in the UK in 1887.
I have a photo posted on Viewmate 5726 captioned Adolph and family, nephew in
New York.
With the help of member Janette Silverman and Jewishgen we have found 4
Dannenberg marriages in Riga that could be Barnett's parents and sisters. The
sisters' married names are EPSTEIN / HIBSCHMANN, PTASCHKIN and GLESERMANN.
I have found Ellis Island and Census data for an Adolph EPSTEIN and Adolph
GLASER of potentially the right age but nothing yet definitive.
Connections and suggestions welcome. I do not know the names of Barnett's
siblings or parents other than the suggestions >from the Riga marriages, I am
not even certain that he came >from Riga.
