My own great great grandfather was Julius Salomonsohn, born in
Lobsens[then Posen Province, Prussia--now part of Northwest Poland].
His grandson was named Julian in his memory. So my mother Shirley
was Shirley/Sara bat Julian.
A few years ago in the Polish Archives branch in Bydgoszcz, in the
files of the Jewish Community of Lobzenica, I found records of school
enrollments of Jewish children Recorded in the 1830-1840 period. And
there was my gg grandfather Juda son of Michael Salomonsohn.
No now, in synagogue, when we recite memorial prayers I can now say --
after 30 years of searching--"My mother, my teacher Sara bat Yehuda".
