Members of our family left Berlin in Feb, 1939 and went to Belgium (some
say they walked there). After the Germans invaded the Lowlands in May,
1940, they went to France. At some point all German Jewish males were
arrested (fear of spying?) and sent to work camps. The father of this
family was one of those arrested.

I don't know the name of the camp but a family member spells it
phonetically as St. She-cray-ann located in the Pyrenees.
Saint-Cyprien (Pyrenees Orientales)

He became quite ill and an escape was arranged (don't have details).

If anyone could help me with the name of this camp, I'd greatly
appreciate it.
