Chief Genealogist of MyHeritage to share Israel Genealogy On The
Internet at JGS Cleveland

Daniel Horowitz, the chief genealogist at MyHeritage, is the featured
speaker at the Wednesday, August 3rd meeting of the Jewish Genealogy
Society of Cleveland. Mr. Horowitz will show how to access
genealogical resources and other useful databases available in Israel,
that can be accessed online to find relatives. He will share how
English speakers can overcome the barrier of the language with a basic
lesson of Hebrew and how to translate efficiently to English.

Israel has a growing number of websites and digital resources that can
be searched via the Internet in English and in Hebrew. A fast
introduction to Hebrew, the keywords needed and the translation tools
available will assist with the vast array of places where one can find
information about people that have been born, lived or died in Israel.

Daniel Horowitz was a teacher and the study guide editor of the family
history project, "Searching for My Roots" for over 15 years in
Venezuela. He holds board level positions at the Israel Genealogy
Research Association (IGRA) and at the International Association of
Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS). He has a deep understanding of
the needs of today's family history enthusiasts. Daniel is the Chief
Genealogist of MyHeritage.com where he provides key contributions in
the areas of product development, customer support and public affairs.
Daniel also heads the company's Translation Department, where he has
been instrumental in increasing MyHeritage's global support to 43
languages.

The Jewish Genealogy Society of Cleveland meets on Wednesday evenings
starting at 7:30 PM in the Miller Board Room at Menorah Park, 27100
Cedar Road, Beachwood. Board members are available >from 7:00 to
assist with individual research questions. Guests are welcome. RSVP to
