(US) Ancestry Free Access to Occupation Records Through September 5 11:50 PM ET #general

Jan Meisels Allen

To celebrate Labor Day, Ancestry is making its occupation records collection
available free through Monday 5 September 2016 11:59 PM ET. This includes
US census as occupations are listed on the census. When you do a search
those records in the featured collections will say "View Free Access". You
are required to register with your name, email address and password. No
credit card information is required. To save the record to your computer,
right click on your mouse and click "save image as". If you go to sign up
to save this record you are going to be directed to subscribe with a credit
card. That is not the free offer. To search the records go to:

If you select records >from collections other than the featured ones you will
be directed to subscribe with credit card information. If you click on
"start free trial" you will also be directed to subscribe.

Ancestry also has a link to a free guide in learning about your ancestor's
livelihood. Go to:

I have no affiliation with Ancestry and am posting this solely for the
information of the reader.
