FamilySearch Adds Vienna Vital Records Films #general

FamilySearch continues to scan their films and make them available
online for free. Significant new additions come >from the Jewish
Community of Vienna.

Now available online are the following films, in the order in which
they appear:

-Birth index, 1826-1910
-Births, 1858-1911
-Death index, 1826-1938
-Deaths, 1826-1938
-Marriage index, 1825-1938
-Marriages, 1825-1932 (organized by Viennese district)
-Marriage banns, 1889-1930
-Divorce mediation proceedings, 1921-1938
-Divorces, 1870-1942
-Conversions, 1868-1946
-Birth announcements, 1893-1911
-Death announcements, 1920-1938, 1941-1951 (the later decade is near the bottom)
-Marriage correspondences, 1855-1888
-Burial index, 1891-1945
-Secessions >from Judaism, 1884-1942

There are two separate films (2410646 and 2410647) listed near the
bottom that include:
-Births, 1784-1849
-Marriages, 1785-1848
-Deaths, 1784-1848

icon to access the films.

Of note is that many of these records have already been indexed at
www.genteam.at . This is a free site once you make an account. Click on
the left on Vienna Jewish records. When you search a name, it will
give you the item number for birth, marriage or death. For the
marriage records, it will also give you the district that the marriage
took place.
