Topic: "Stories >from Ellis Island >from The Perspective of a Tour Guide at
Ellis Island National Park"

Guest Speaker: Fred Voss.

Ellis Island opened on January 1, 1892 as the nation's first federal
immigration entry point. For 32 years, it was the busiest U.S. inspection
station, processing over 12.5 million people. Fred Voss, a professional
genealogical researcher, educator, and lecturer, volunteers at Ellis Island,
leading tours of the recently re-opened hospitals on the island's south side.
He will give an illustrated talk about the past, present and future of this
iconic American landmark and he'll share some of his favorite immigration
stories.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Our "Mavens" will be available at 1:30 PM to take your genealogy questions.
