Judith Elam asked about the Cosmos Restaurant in NW London.

She means the Cosmo Restaurant at 169a Finchley Road, Hampstead. The area was
popular with German Jewish refugees in the 1940s.

Unfortunately Judith doesn't mention her parents' names so impossible to research
further details. Possibly her Dad was used as an interpreter or interviewer of
German POWs. If so there should be an army intelligence record.
