Dear all, My mother was repatriated >from the Isle of Man back to Austria in September 1944 as part of the exchange of wounded POW's and civilian internees between United Kingdom and Germany. The mercy ship M.V. Drottningholm sailed >from Liverpool (England) to Gothenburg Sweden where the exchange occurred. The exchange was organised through the International Red Cross Committee.
Does anyone know how my mother may have traveled back to Austria >from Gothenberg?
Part of the route back to Austria may have been by train >from Gothenburg to Trelleborg (Sweden) and then by train ferry to the Isle of Rugen Germany. However the rest of the journey is unknown.
