There was a Shimon HURWITZ , who was a shochet (butcher) during the first half
of the 20th cent. in Petach Tikva, Israel. He was a distant cousin of ours but
know today seems to know the exact connection. My grandparents were Chaim
Yitzchak and Rachel Leah (SCHECHTER) ABRAMOWITZ born in the old city of
Jerusalem.

One of HURWITZ's daughters (POCHOVITCH) moved to Chicago with her husband and
both died relatively young. Their children may still be living there.

I would be happy to hear >from any of Shimon HURWITZ's descendants or other
relatives who know our connection. My guess that it is through my grandfather's
family as both he and Shimon HURWITZ's family stemmed >from Novarodok.
