I was just looking at one Hebrew reference stating that the Baal Shem Tov was descended through the brother of Rabbi Moshe Isserles of Cracow and Lurias >from Rabbi Shmuel Shapiro of Speyer whose wife was descended via Troyes >from the Rivan (Rabbi Yehuda ben Natan), the son-in-law of Rashi.
