Missing Europe>England leg #general

Fidell, Eugene <eugene.fidell@...>

To the Sherlock Holmeses of genealogy: can you help? My ggm Chana Korman
sailed with two daughters >from Liverpool to Boston on the Cunard Line's
SS Pavonia, arriving June 10, 1895. I cannot, however, find her incoming
UK entry >from Europe using Ancestry's database. According to the
Liverpool>Boston manifest, her last residence had been Vienna (a fact
that appears nowhere else in my records, and which I am inclined to
doubt since the family was >from Kamenetz-Podolsk and environs, not
Galicia.) If she and her daughters really had been in Vienna, it's
possible that they traveled by rail to some port on the English Channel
and simply took a Channel steamer rather than a longer-haul passenger
vessel >from Hamburg or one of the northerly or Baltic ports. If so,
would there even be a passenger manifest? I'll welcome any research
suggestions. Thanks in advance, and Happy Fourth.
