Patty Edmonson, Museum Advisory Council Curator of Costume & Textiles at the
Cleveland History Center of the Western Reserve Historical Society, will be
the featured speaker at the October 10 meeting of the Jewish Genealogy
Society of Cleveland. In her presentation entitled "The Way We Were: What
Photos Tell Us," she provides guidance on understanding and preserving
family photos dating >from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century.
Edmonson draws on her expertise to help researchers identify family members
through articles of clothing, hair styles and other physical evidence
presented in sample photographs taken between the 1870's and 1920's. She
will also advise members and guests on how to create a photographic family
tree as well as the proper way to store archival materials. The Jewish
Genealogy Society of Cleveland meets on the first Wednesday of the month
starting at 7:30 P.M. in the Miller Board Room at Menorah Park, 27100 Cedar
Road, Beachwood. Board members are available at a Help Desk to assist with
individual research questions >from 7:00 P.M. Guests are welcome and can RSVP
