According to family stories, my great greatgrandmother, Gitel
ABRAMOWITZ, married (second marriage for both) and British man by the
name of Yitzchak LAZAROV. This widower had 12 children (>from his first
wife/wives) and came to Jerusalem to find a "Shiduch". He seems to
have been wealthy (at least in relative term for the Orthodox Jewish
community of the turn of the century) and they lived in the Meah
Shearim area.
According to this source, Yitzchak lent a very large sum of money to a
faltering Yeshiva in the Old City and after the Yeshiva went bankrupt
and could not repay the loan he had a heart attack (and/or depression)
and passed away.
Anyone on this list knowledgeable of the above story and can add any
other details, preferably about my ancestress.
Shabbat Shalom
