There is great news for researchers with an interest in the city of
Czestochowa. The first group of indices for Czestochowa Jewish
vital records is now availble for searching in the Jewish Records
Indexing - Poland database. These are for the years 1826 to 1844.

Indices to the Czestochowa records >from 1826-1884 were created
as the result of a single-handed effort by Michael Chen of Israel.
Michael is now doing a final review of the post-1844 years, and
these indices will be released about a decade at a time as they
are received by JRI-Poland.

The board of JRI-Poland extends a hearty yasher koach to
Michael for his enormous contribution to Czestochowa and
area researchers.
