I am researching Dankberg (Denkberg) The only town of origin is Chortkov and some Denkbergs appear in the Yisker Book of that town But in the book of Jewish surnames in the Kingdom of Poland that name never appeared nor in the book of Jewish surnames in the Empire of Russia. Would ther be some reason for this anomaly?
