Vital record registers in Lodz Archives to be fumigated #poland

Stanley Diamond

As part of the Polish State Archives' ongoing preservation and
restoration program, registers >from various archives are moved
to a special facility for fumigation.

We have just learned that work will start on the vital record
register holdings of the Lodz Archives in the not-too-distant
future. At present, we do not have any indication when the
work will start or end.

We suggest that researchers with an interest in ordering records
from the Lodz archives do so without delay. A list of all towns for
which there are Jewish vital record registers in the Lodz archives
follows below. Note, however, there are registers for some of the
towns in other branches as well. Typically they will be registers
for different time periods.

Also, many of these towns are not yet included in the JRI-Poland database.
