Family History Library in New York City #poland

Dear Researchers,

A recent visit to the Mormon Church's Family History Center in New York
turned up some interesting new restrictions.

At present, they are not taking any requests for ordering microfilm or
microfiche >from Salt Lake City. This is temporary, but the duration is
unknown.

Additionally, the staff has speculated that in the future, the library
itself may have to be closed, also temporarily.

Both anticipated restrictions are because of pending construction and
possible reorganization of the layout of the rooms. They will be
building a new temple on the fifth and sixth floors, and other changes
will result >from this activity.

So, if you're planning a visit to NY and want to use the Library's
facilities, it will pay to check first, to make sure they are still
open.

The Family History Center is located at 125 Columbus Avenue at 65th
Street, on the second floor. Their usual hours are Tuesday, Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday >from 11:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Telephone number is (212) 873-1690.
Regards, Mila Begun in NYC
