There is only one month left to the dead-end of submitting proposals for the
conference in summer of 2016 in Seattle.
I still hope to hear >from some of you about lectures, seminars related to
our Bessarabia region...
We have a terrific membership in our group, and we all would like to see
interesting topics about history of Jews in Bessarabia or possible in a
district, like Orgeev with many Jewish Colonies built in the first part of
19 century, or possible in Khotin district, where we found the largest
number of towns with majority Jewish population.
We have a large number of members interested in the south part of
Bessarabia, towns of Akkerman, Kiliya, Ismail. The history of Jews in that
part is somewhat different >from the rest.
I also would be glad to hear about someone's person research, and the method
they used to gather information.
I am still planning to have a session on migration of Jews in and out of
Bessarabia >from 19 century. If anyone has information on this topic, please
let me know, and we can present together.
Also asked before if there is an interest to have a Workshop on Bessarabia
research... Let me know if you are interested in this.
I am looking forward to hear >from you.
All the best,
Bessarabia SIG Coordinator
