Lipcani Cemetery project #bessarabia

Yefim Kogan

Dear researchers,

As you all know we completed the Lipcani Cemetery project. It was a very hard work to finish it, and
thanks to many volunteers who helped. The cemetery has on its grounds graves >from 18 century,
which are very rare in Bessarabia. Some of the stones have beautiful ornamentation.

We have total of 1879 burial sites we identified (at least one of the names). We also submitted to
JOWBR 1806 photos of graves, and 567 photos of Unknown graves.

The 1879 records with photos are going to be uploaded to JewishGen in the summer of this year
(JOWBR updates the database twice a year!) The Lipcani Cemetery report as well as a set of
Unknown graves are available at Bessarabia SIG website, Cemetery section now.

For those of you who donated $100+ for the project, I am sending the whole registry to you.
I have already sent to 6 of our donors. It is possible that you donated for Lipcani Cemetery
project, but I do not know about it. Please let me know.

Also if you donate now to Bessarabia-Moldova Cemetery project $100, I will send you the
Lipcani Cemetery registry.

Please let me know if you have questions,

All the best,
Yefim Kogan
