I have recently found my Great Grandmother's maiden name was JASCHKOWITZ.
Her first name was Hilda JASCHKOWITZ, b. 1846 - d. 1897 (New York City).
Hilda's parents were Bernhard and Huirietta JASCHKOWITZ.

On the JRI - Poland web site, I found several JASCHKOWITZES.

1. Bytom Marriages 1848 - 74 Prussia / Katowice Province
AVELLIS, Berthold and JASCHKOWITZ, Natalie - father Bernhard JASCHKOWITZ

from Gleiwitz. Natalie's age is 24 making her birthdate 1839 a possible

sister of Huirietta

2. Raciborz Births 1815-47 Prussia / Opole Province
JASCHKOWITZ, Rosalie born 16 Feb 1842 Mother, Henriette - Mothersurn -
LIPSCHUTZ.
Question - does Mothersurn mean mother's maiden name? If so, I do not
think this name is a sister to my Huirietta since further down is another
name that I will get to.

3. Wroclaw PSA BMD 1889 - 1890 Prussia / Wroclaw Province
SILBERMANN, Ernestine died 1897 age 60 years 9 months. Father - Bernhard,
Mother - Henriette, Mothersurn SACHS, Spouse - Moritz, Spousesurn -
JASCHKOWITZ. Does this mean that Ernestine was married to Mortiz
SILBERMANN and her maiden name was JASCHKOWITZ? It would make her
birthdate about 1837, making her another possible sister to Huirietta.
However, if this mother's maiden name is SACHS, I do not think the
previous birth Rosalie JASCHKOWITZ would be a sister.

MOKRAUER, Rosalie, died 1893 at the age of 63 years 6 months. Father -
Bernhard, Mother - Henriette SACHS, Spouse - Bernhard, Spousesurn -
JASCHKOWITZ. It would make her birthdate about 1830 another possible sister.

My Great Grandmother Hilda JASCHKOWITZ married Moritz Ehrenfreund. The city
they lived in before coming to the United States was Tarnow. They had five
children.
Bernhard b. 1869 (My grandfather)
Sigmund b. 1871
Flora b. 1872
Heinrich b. 1875
Regina b. 1879

I have looked in both the Jewishgen JGFT and FTJP and did not see any
connections to my family. If anyone has these names in their family tree,
please get in touch with me. I would also appreciate your ideas if these
people belong in my family.
