Our Revision List team has started working on a new set of records for the
Revision Lists. In this new load (in June, 2019) we will have sets of
records for Kishinev, Bendery, Ataki, Faleshty, Izmail, Romanenko colony and
At the beginning of February you will get a table of what records are in
There is one thing I want to share with you, and possible to get an advice.
I always wanted for each set of records display for you Title page of the
set, as well as Ending pages. The ending pages in many cases have
signatures of some of the members of the community. Today I looked at some
microfilms, we have in many cases a "second" set of the same records. Well,
maybe not exactly the same, that is why I am going thru the records and if
there are differences or missing pages, we will take records >from the
"second" copy. I worked with Ataki set ("second" copy), and found after a
full Revision, there are signatures (in Hebrew/Yiddish) of about 150 people,
probably heads of households, and I believe that this might be of interest
to many of you. I remember how I was happy when found in one of the
Revisions a signature of my great great great grandfather...
The question is, how we going to process these pages? It is not just
translation/transcribing, we need to display the images. I am going to
consult with JewishGen on this, and possible for now, we can have these
signature documents at our Bessarabia SIG database.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
