Jewish cemeteries, progress #bessarabia

Yefim Kogan

Hello researchers,

I want to add to my monthly report about the Jewish cemeteries project progress. I already told you
what is going on in Kishinev Jewish Cemetery, but here are more:

Brichany cemetery, Phase 2 - Clearing paths, cleaning, etc. - all work is done, photographs were
taken, and now team is working on indexing, deciphering the inscriptions. Hopefully, we will end
this project in 2-3 months.

Lipkany cemetery, Phase 2 - team of people are now at the cemetery cutting trees, cleaning, and
photographing the stones. It probably will need a second trip if one is not enough. Planning to do
everything including indexing by end of the year.

Ryshkany Jewish cemetery, planning to photograph this spring

Cemetery in Brazil, with people >from Bessarabia, transcription is done, and records will be sent to
JOWBR next month

Ataki Jewish Cemetery, Phase 2 - Clearing paths, cleaning will be done in the fall of 2019 or spring
of 2020

Klishkivtsi, TWO Jewish cemeteries - plan to work there in the fall of 2019

TWO MORE Jewish cemeteries were discovered in Bessarabia by Serghei Daniliuk! They are very small,
what left >from them, and photographing is done already. Serghei will send a message about it to our
group.

Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions.

all the best,

Shabbat Shalom,
