An extract >from Salford Police Register of Aliens (dated 1920) lists
Moses BLOOMENFELD and his wife Sheva as Russian nationals and  shows
their places of birth. Neither town seems to exist and I am guessing
the places might have been misheard and/or written phonetically by an
English clerk.  Other family records identify them as coming >from
Bessarabia and mention Izmail and Akkerman.  They would have left
Bessarabia in the late 1880s. I am looking for help in trying to
identify these towns.
