Chodecz Book of Residents #poland

Dear Members:

On behalf of Jewish Records Indexing - Poland, I am extremely pleased
to announce that we have recently acquired the scans of the original
1885-1931 Chodecz Book of Residents in 5 Volumes >from the Wlocalwek
Archive, including an Index (one volume) providing an alphabetical
listing of residents.

This new acquisition will bring to light much information about
Chodecz families and their connections for many generations.
This is a remarkable surviving source as the town's vital records
apparently did not survive.

Information in the Book of Records, written mostly in Cyrllic Russian
and partly in Polish, includes house numbers, listing of family
members, maiden names, birth dates, towns of origin. In some cases,
additional documents are attached to the book pages.

As coordinator of the translation project, I would be able to answer
any queries but encourage you to submit donations through the
JRI-POLAND website WWW.JRI-POLAND.ORG to expedite the completion of
the project. Qualified contributors will be eligible to obtain an
excel file with all entries and move this project to a quicker
completion. Please contact me for additional information.

Best regards,

Ken Drabinsky
