Gesher Galicia in Los Angeles #poland

Gesher Galicia SIG

Dear Friends,

Please join us for an October event hosted by the Jewish Genealogical
Society of Los Angeles. The program will feature a talk by Andrew
Zalewski, Gesher Galicia board member and editor of the organization's
journal, the Galitzianer.

Monday, October 8, 2018
Burton Sperber Jewish Community Library, American Jewish University,
15600 Mulholland Dr., Bel Air, CA 90077

7:30 - 9:00 p.m.
"Jewish Galicia: Vibrant Past Rediscovered"

The presentation will be of interest to general audiences. Discover
the largest Jewish community in Austria-Hungary, learn stories about
personal perseverance, and explore records concerning marriages,
surnames, and schools. The presentation will be illustrated by unique
archival documents and old maps acquired by Gesher Galicia. The
speaker is the author of two books on Austrian Galicia (1772 - 1918),
in which he intertwined genealogical discoveries with a broader
historical context, bringing to life the Jewish community of Galicia.

Additional details >from the JGS of LA can be found at:

The event will be an opportunity to share with others your interest in
Jewish Galician genealogy. We look forward to meeting many members, as
well as non-members, at the presentation.
