In 2001 I met with the libraries director Jan Leonczuk. He is very
knowledgeable about the history of the Bialystok area. Unfortunately he
doesn't seem to speak English. I had a translator and was also with a
Polish friend who knows him quite well. I think having just met me he
was understandably somewhat reluctant to entirely open up to me. His
first concern was to establish that "Zabludow was no Yedwabne".
