Shalom

I am doing research on Chaim LERNER (born circa 1880's) ben Nachum >from
Briceni, Moldova. Lat= 48deg 22'; Lon= 27deg 05' , 125 miles/200 kilometers NW
of Chisinau.

I believe Nachum's father was a Rabbi in Briceni. The Rabbi's other
children include, Mordechai, Leizer, Rose and Mary. I do not know the Yiddish names
of Nachum's sisters.

Nachum may have moved to Argentina in the 1880's for approximately 3 years
to work as a farmer on a settlement funded by Baron de Hirsch. >from there it
is believed he went back to Europe, before settling in Cincinnati Ohio, USA
in the 1890's with is wife and children. Nachum eventually moved to New York
and died in the 1920's.

Nachum's father may have also had a niece named Sarah, who married George
GANDELMAN/HANDELMAN. They lived in New York.

If anyone is familiar with this family, please email me privately.

Thank you,

Shelly Crane
